Woops.

So my clinic has chart rounds every Friday at 9:15 and as a student I have to go even though the attending doctors don't really talk to me, and I don't think they realize I exist yet, and today was really boring and I fell asleep when they were talking about a patient. I woke up maybe a minute or so later because they were still talking about the same patient but it was pretty embarrassing because some of the resident doctors saw me doze off. Anyone else have anything like that happen so far?

  1. Hey Rachel,

While I haven't falling asleep in rounds (we have ours on Wednesdays at lunch...bonus: free lunch), on my second day, I was putting together New Patient files which are put in different sections of the file in chrono order. The next day the nurse "dropped" the one of the files back on the desk and said she couldn't even deal with it because it was not in order. So I looked through it with the admin person, just to find I had placed an information sheet in the front of the file which was dated before the page behind it. Even though I was following directions on this particular file, I apologize to the nurse. Not a good start, but it has definitely gotten better.
